Ruma Technical Degree College

Our college is tucked away in the Wireless Compound, which is right near the Bsnl Tower. It is a pretty easy landmark to spot from a distance if you are looking for the place for the first time. The compound is a bit of a quiet area compared to the main roads nearby, which is nice for a place where people are trying to study and learn. We have a few classrooms and some lab spaces where the students spend the majority of their time. It is not a massive campus with fancy lawns or statues. It is mostly just functional buildings made of concrete and brick. We have some older equipment and some newer pieces that we have managed to get hold of over the years. The staff here are mostly local people who have been working in the technical field for a long time before they started teaching. We spend a lot of time just going over the basics and making sure everyone understands the practical side of the work, not just the books. During the breaks, you will see students hanging out near the gates or sitting by the tower. It is a very grounded atmosphere without any pretense. We do not have many extra activities or big festivals. We just focus on the classes and the technical training. Sometimes the rain makes the compound muddy, but we just walk around the puddles.
