Mariyam Girls School

You will find Mariyam Girls School out on Karmaini Road, which is in the Barwa Raja Pakar area of Kushinagar. It is a quiet enough place compared to the bigger cities, and our school fits right into that landscape. The building is simple, nothing too modern or shiny, just a place for the local girls to come and study their books. We have a few rows of classrooms and a small area where the students gather in the morning. Being located at 274407, we see a lot of the same families every day. The road outside can get a bit muddy when it rains, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the floors. It’s a basic school where the main thing is just getting through the lessons. We don't have a big cafeteria or fancy sports fields, but we do have teachers who show up and do their work. The day usually starts with the sound of the gate opening and ends when the last of the girls heads home down the road. It’s a very local operation, run by people who live nearby and understand what the community needs. We aren't trying to be some high-end private academy; we are just a school that provides a place for learning in this corner of Kushinagar. It’s honest work, and the building feels like a second home to those of us who spend all day here.
