Laxman Prasad Rice Mills

Laxman Prasad Rice Mills is located out in P.O. Dudhi, which is in the Tehsil Tamkuhi Raj part of Khushi Nagar. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but it’s a good area for what we do. The surroundings are mostly fields, so we are right where the rice is actually grown. It makes sense to have the mill here. The air is a bit cleaner than in the city, except for the dust we create ourselves. We have been part of this community in Khushi Nagar for a long time. People around here know Laxman Prasad and they know they can just come by the mill if they need something. We don't have any fancy technology. We use the same methods that have been used for years because they work. The building is made of brick and has a tin roof that makes a lot of noise when it rains. We spend our days checking the sieves and making sure the huller is running smooth. It’s a quiet life in some ways, even with the noise of the machinery. We don't have a lot of visitors from outside the local area. Most of the people we see are our neighbors and the local farmers. We just keep our heads down and do the work. There isn't much to say about it other than it’s honest work and it keeps us busy through the seasons.
