Jivan Jyoti Chikitsalay

You’ll find Jivan Jyoti Chikitsalay over in Fazilnagar, right on the National Highway Road. We are very close to the overbridge, which is the main landmark everyone uses to find us. Being on the NH road means there is always a lot of dust and noise from the trucks going by, but that’s just life in this part of Gorakhpur. The chikitsalay is a simple place. We have a few rooms and a small area where people can wait. A lot of our patients are people who live in the surrounding villages or workers who are traveling along the highway. It’s not a fancy medical center with shiny floors, it’s just a real place where people come when they are sick or injured. We see a lot of different things every day because of our location near the road. The staff here is used to the fast pace. I usually spend my time talking to the patients and making sure they know where to go. We try to be as helpful as possible without making things complicated. It’s honest work, and we like being part of the Fazilnagar community. Some days are longer than others, especially when the weather is bad and people struggle to get here, but we stay open for whoever needs us. It’s just how we do things here by the overbridge in Gorakhpur. It isn't much, but it's what the local community has for their needs.
