Health Care Pathalogy

Our lab is located on the Main Road in Kasia. It's a small building but it stays quite busy because we're so close to the Government Hospital. People usually come in after seeing their doctors there. They bring their slips for blood tests or urine samples. I usually open the shutters by 8 AM. The smell of disinfectant is the first thing you notice when you walk in. We have a couple of technicians who handle the samples and run the machines. It’s not a glamorous job, just a lot of looking at slides and checking numbers. The waiting area has some old wooden benches and a fan that squeaks a little. Sometimes it gets really hot in the afternoons, especially in Gorakhpur summers. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations on the walls, just some posters about health. Most of our work is routine stuff. People want their reports fast so they can take them back to the hospital for their next appointment. We try to get things done by the evening. The street outside is usually full of rickshaws and people rushing toward the hospital gate. It’s a loud place to work but you get used to it after a few months. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the tea stall owners nearby. It’s just a regular local lab doing regular work for the people around Kasia. We don't do any big promotions, just local work for local folks.
