Tushar Kirana Store

Running a kirana store here in the Main Bazar of Village Dhand is a busy life. We are situated right near the Oriental Bank, so we see almost everyone from the village at some point during the week. It’s a good spot to be in, right in the heart of things. We open up early because people need their milk and bread first thing in the morning. The shelves are packed with everything from pulses and rice to soap and snacks for the kids. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes when we get a big delivery and have to find space for all the sacks. We know most of our customers by their names and we know exactly what they usually need before they even ask for it. Sometimes we spend more time chatting about the weather or the crops than actually selling things. That’s just how it is in a village like this. The Taluka Pundri area is quiet for the most part, but the bazar stays lively. We have to keep an eye on the stock levels all the time so we don't run out of the basics. It’s not just a business for us; it’s our daily life. The floor needs sweeping constantly because of the dust from the road, but we don't mind much. We’ve been here for years and the store is just part of who we are now.
