Maruti Steel Industries

Maruti Steel Industries is situated on Khedi Road in the Kheri Markanda area. We are right opposite the new bus stand, so there is always a lot of movement and people coming and going. The sound of the buses pulling in and out is something we hear from morning until night. Being on Khedi Road means we get a lot of trucks passing by too. Inside, it’s mostly metal and the smell of steel. We have different stacks of stuff lying around depending on what we are working on that week. It’s a dusty place, as you would expect for a steel industry. The office is just a small corner where we keep the ledgers and a phone that rings quite a bit. Across the street, the new bus stand is always busy, which makes it easy for people to find us. Just look for the metal gates. We don’t have a big sign with lights, just the name on the wall. The floors are concrete and they have seen a lot of wear over the years. Kheri Markanda is a good spot for us because it’s connected to the main routes. We spend our days cutting, moving, and loading steel. It’s hard work and it makes your hands dirty, but that’s the business. We usually close up when the sun goes down and the bus traffic thins out. It’s just how things go for us every single day here on Khedi Road.
