Swasti Traders

If you walk down Temple Road in Mantralayam, you will find Swasti Traders at 3-28-49. It is right in the middle of all the noise and people heading toward the temple. We have been in this spot for a long time. The shop isn't very large, so we have to stack things high up to the ceiling. It can get a bit cramped when the delivery trucks show up in the narrow street. We usually spend the morning unloading boxes and trying to find space for everything. It is a lot of physical work, and our hands are rarely clean by the end of the day. Mantralayam gets very hot, so we keep the doors open to catch whatever breeze comes off the road. We don't have a corporate script or any fancy uniforms. Most of us just wear what is comfortable for moving crates. Sometimes the ledger books get a bit disorganized during the busy season, but we always sort it out by evening. We see a lot of travelers passing through to the temple, but most of our regulars are the local folks who live nearby. We don't do anything special for promotion. We just open the shutters, put out the stock, and wait for whoever needs something that day. It is just a regular trading business where we try to get the numbers right and keep the shelves from being empty.
