Spices & Co

Our shop is over at 124/541A on Kurnool Road in Pattikonda. If you’ve ever driven through this area, you know it’s a main road with a lot of movement. We deal in spices, so the air around the shop is always thick with the scent of turmeric and dried chilies. It’s the kind of smell that stays in your hair long after you leave work. We have large sacks lined up against the walls, and we spend a lot of time weighing out portions for people. The floor is concrete and can get a bit messy with spice dust, but we sweep it up as often as we can. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment; it’s mostly just scales and scoops. Pattikonda is a practical place, and our business fits right in with that. We don’t spend money on fancy packaging or big ads. Most of our work is just keeping track of what’s coming in from the farmers and what’s going out to the local kitchens. Sometimes the dust from the spices makes us sneeze, but you get used to it after a few years. It’s a loud, busy environment, especially when the trucks are idling outside on Kurnool Road. We just keep our heads down and do the work, making sure the spices are dry and ready for whoever needs them. It’s a basic operation, and that’s exactly how we like it.
