Santhiram Medical College & General Hospital

Our place is situated right along National Highway No. 18. Being on the highway means we see a lot of people coming and going at all hours of the day and night. It’s a big site since we have both the medical college and the general hospital here. It can get pretty busy, especially in the mornings when the students are arriving for their classes and the outpatient clinic starts filling up. There’s always a bit of a buzz around the place. We have a lot of different buildings and wings, so it can be a little confusing for someone visiting for the first time, but we usually have someone around to point folks in the right direction. It’s a lot of work keeping a place this size running. We have a big team of doctors, nurses, and students, along with all the people who handle the cleaning and the food. The sounds of the highway are always in the background—trucks passing by and horns honking—but you get used to it after a day or two. We aren't a small local clinic, but we try to keep things feeling human. We deal with everything from minor stuff to much bigger health issues. It's a lot of responsibility, but it's what we do. We’ve been out here on Highway 18 for years and have seen the whole area grow up around us. There is always something going on here.
