Prepaid Associate

We are over here in Muthukur, which is part of the Aspari Mandal in Kurnool district. It is a quiet area mostly, but we keep busy enough with the prepaid work. People come by for various recharges and mobile-related stuff that needs doing. I started this because there wasn’t a reliable spot close by for everyone to get their talk time or data sorted without traveling a long way. The shop is small, just a basic room really with a counter and a few chairs for when it gets crowded. Sometimes the internet is a bit slow out here in Andhra Pradesh, but we make it work. Most days it’s just me and maybe one other guy helping out. We know almost everyone who walks through the door since it is a small village setup. You get used to the routine of it. There is a lot of paperwork sometimes with the forms and the ID proofs people bring in, but that is just how the business goes. I try to keep things organized so nobody has to wait too long under the sun. It gets pretty hot here in the afternoons. We don’t have any fancy signs or big lights, just the name on the front so people know where to stop. It has been a few years now and we are still at it. It is honest work and keeps the lights on.
