Mulla Kirana Shop

Mulla Kirana Shop is over in Yemmiganur, right on Marati Street at 8-4-7. It’s a quiet enough street most of the time, except for when the kids are out playing. We’ve got a small storefront where we display some of the newer items. Inside, it’s mostly basic stuff. We sell a lot of cooking oil and different types of dal. The counter is wooden and a bit worn down where people lean on it. We’ve lived in Yemmiganur for a long time, so this shop is just an extension of our home. We open up early and usually stay until the street lights come on. There isn’t a lot of space to move around, especially when we get a new delivery of crates. We just stack them up and work around them. Most of our regulars live just a few houses away. We don't bother with fancy receipts unless someone really needs one; we usually just remember the prices. Sometimes we have to chase away a cat that’s looking for a warm spot. It’s just the way things go here on Marati Street. We don’t try to be anything we’re not. It’s a simple shop for simple needs. If you need something for dinner or just a bit of salt, we’re usually here. That’s how we’ve always done it and it seems to work fine.
