G M R D Mineral Stone

Out here on Bethamcherla Road, the air is mostly full of stone dust. G M R D Mineral Stone has been sitting here in Rangapuram for a while now. It is a rough kind of business. We deal with heavy stones all day long. Most of the time, we are just moving pieces around or checking the quality of what comes in from the quarries. The yard at 4/57/71 is where everything happens. It gets really hot in the sun, especially in the afternoons when there is no breeze. We drink a lot of tea to keep going. The trucks come and go on the main road, making a lot of noise. It is not the kind of place you come if you want to stay clean. Our clothes are usually grey by the time lunch rolls around. We talk to the drivers and the workers, mostly about the weather or how much work is left for the week. There is a lot of heavy lifting involved. My back usually aches by the evening. We don't have a big office or anything like that. Just a small space to sit and some shade for the equipment. Rangapuram is a quiet town except for the stone yards. It is steady work, and we just keep at it day after day without much fuss. The stones are heavy and the days are long. We hope to finish our work before it gets too dark to see clearly. Moving these minerals takes a lot of patience and strong arms.
