Out here in Kondapuram village, things are a bit quieter than in the big cities. We are Fujian Shixing Stone India Privatelimited, and you can find us over at Urvi Granites in the Khammam Rural area. It’s a lot of open space and heavy machinery around here. We work with stone, specifically granites, so our days involve a lot of heavy lifting and checking quality. The yard is usually full of blocks waiting to be moved or processed. It’s hard work, especially when it’s hot outside, but we’ve got a good group of people who know what they’re doing. We aren't really a fancy corporate setup. Most of the time, we’re out in the yard rather than sitting in the office. The office itself is pretty basic, just a place to keep the paperwork dry and take a break. We’ve been part of the Kondapuram landscape for a while. Dealing with stone means you have to have patience. Some days the machines act up or the transport is delayed, but that’s just life in the rural parts of Khammam. We focus on getting the stone ready for whoever needs it. It’s honest work that leaves you tired at the end of the shift. We don’t spend much time on talk; we just focus on the slabs and making sure the trucks get loaded up right for their long journeys.
