Hema Herbal Products

Hema Herbal Products is run out of a house in Bethamcherla. We are at House Number 5/248 in the Kothapeta area. It’s a quiet neighborhood for the most part, though kids play in the street in the evenings. We started this because we had the space and the interest in plants. The rooms are filled with different dried leaves and jars. It smells like earth and herbs most of the time. We don't have a storefront with big windows. People usually just knock on the door or call us. We spend a lot of time sorting through materials we get from the local markets or nearby fields. Sometimes the batches take longer to prepare than we thought they would. It’s just how it goes with natural stuff. Bethamcherla isn't a huge place, so news travels by word of mouth mostly. We don’t do much advertising. If someone likes what we make, they tell their neighbor. That’s how we’ve kept going. The floors are often covered in bits of bark or powder that we have to sweep up constantly. It’s hard work and your hands get dirty. We keep the ledger in a simple notebook. It’s a small operation, just a few of us working in the back rooms. We don't plan on moving to a big factory anytime soon. We like it here in Kothapeta. It is a simple life and it keeps us busy enough throughout the seasons.
