Al Khadeer Engineering Works

Al Khadeer Engineering Works is tucked away in Vanijya Nagar, Kurnool. Most days here start early when the shutters go up at 51-15 A 183 F. It is a bit loud once the machines get going, but that is just how things are in a workshop. We spend a lot of time with grease on our hands and metal shavings on the floor. It is not a fancy place, just a workspace where things get fixed or made from scratch. People from around Kurnool stop by with parts that need looking at or ideas for some steel work. Sometimes we are busy chasing a deadline and other times we are just having tea while waiting for a delivery. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the afternoons, so we usually keep the fans running high. We have been in this spot for a while now and most of the neighbors know us by name. There is always a pile of scrap in the corner that we mean to clear out but never quite get to. It is honest work, mostly just cutting, welding, and grinding until the job looks right. We don't have a big office or anything, just a small desk covered in receipts and old pens. It feels like a second home for most of us who work here every single day and it gets pretty warm in the summer months.
