Awami Welfare Council

We are based over at Gulshan Ara’s place in Ladoora. It is in the Umer Coloney area, which is a nice, quiet spot where people look out for each other. This council is not a big organization with a lot of money. We are just local people who wanted to do something for our own village. We don't have a storefront or a big office building. Most of our meetings happen right there in the house or sometimes out in the yard if the weather is good. People in Ladoora know where to find us if they have something on their minds. It is a very informal way of doing things, but it works for us. We don't use fancy marketing words or try to sound like a government office. We are just neighbors. Sometimes we spend hours just drinking tea and talking about what needs to be done in the colony. It is slow work sometimes, and we don't always have all the answers right away. But we are here every day, trying to be helpful. If you are new to the area, you might have to ask a neighbor which house is Gulshan Ara’s, but everyone knows. We handle small tasks and try to keep the community moving forward together. It’s just simple, honest work from a small home in Umer Coloney. We like being right here in the middle of it all.
