Sri Varalakshmi Garments

We are over in the Abbas Building on Ramachandra Road, which is quite close to the Muthumariamma Temple in Kuppam. Having the temple nearby means there is always something going on outside, and the sounds of the street definitely make it into our workspace. Sri Varalakshmi Garments is basically just a few rooms where we handle all the garment work. It is often a bit messy with threads and scraps of cloth on the floor, but that is just what happens when you are busy making things. We have a few tables for cutting and the machines are lined up along the walls. The building itself is older, so it has its quirks like doors that stick or windows that don't always want to stay open. We don't mind it much. It is our place of work and it serves us well enough. Most of the people working here live nearby in Kuppam, so we all know each other pretty well. We spend the day talking and working through the orders we have. It isn't a high-tech factory. It is just a group of us using our hands and the machines to get the clothes made. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but we just pick up where we left off. It is a straightforward life here at the shop, just doing the work day by day.
