Karthikeya Juice Center

If you walk down Kodavalli Road in Narasayyaagraharam, you will find us at number 52/5. We call it Karthikeya Juice Center. It is a small shop that we have been operating for a few years. We mostly deal with fresh fruits like oranges, sweet limes, and whatever else is in season. The counter is usually covered in fruit peels by noon because it gets quite busy. We have a couple of plastic chairs outside for people to sit while they wait for their drink. My cousin helps me with the cutting and cleaning. The weather here gets very hot, so the ice machine is always running. Sometimes it makes a weird grinding noise, but it still works fine. We don't do anything special, just plain juice with a bit of sugar or salt if the customer wants it. The floor stays a bit wet because of all the washing we do. We buy our fruits from the main market early in the morning before the sun gets too high. The neighborhood is quiet mostly, except for the bikes passing on Kodavalli Road. We know most of our regular customers by their faces. Some people like their juice without ice and some want extra. We just try to remember who likes what. It is a lot of work to keep everything tidy but we manage. We don't have a big menu, just what is on the chalkboard by the door.
