Akshaja Design Studio

Our little studio, Akshaja Design Studio, is over in the Kaveri Complex on Church Road. We are in the Udupi District, which is a beautiful place to be, especially when it rains, though the dampness can be a bit of a pain for the equipment. The studio is tucked away inside the complex, so it’s a bit quieter than being right on the main street. We have a couple of desks with computers where all the design work happens. It’s not a huge place, but it’s enough for us to sit and focus on what we are doing. Church Road usually has a steady stream of people going to the church or the nearby shops, so there is a nice community feeling here. We aren't big on formalities; usually, we just wear casual clothes and drink a lot of coffee while we work. The walls have some old posters on them and there are usually some papers scattered around the desks. People from around Udupi come in to talk about their projects, and we just sit and figure things out together. It feels more like a workshop than a corporate office. We like it that way because it's comfortable and we can just be ourselves. The Kaveri Complex has been around for a while, and we’ve settled into our corner of it quite nicely. It’s just a place where we do our daily work and try to stay creative.
