Akruthi Wood Crafts

The Akruthi Wood Crafts shop is at number 445 in Bijur, which is part of the Udupi area. It’s not a massive factory or anything like that. It’s a local spot where we deal with wood every single day. If you come by, you’ll probably see a couple of us out front or working in the back area where the air circulates a bit better. Woodworking is what we know, so that’s what we spend our time on. We don't have a big corporate team or a marketing department. It’s just us and the tools we’ve been using for years. The weather in Udupi can be pretty humid, so we have to be careful with how the wood is stored so it doesn't warp or get ruined. We’ve learned a lot over the years just by making mistakes and fixing them. Every piece of wood is a little different, so it keeps the job interesting. Some days are slow and we just tidy up the place, and other days we are working late into the evening to finish something up. It’s a quiet life for the most part, away from the big city noise. We appreciate the local people who stop by just to say hello or see what we’re working on. It’s a simple business built on just showing up and doing the work as best as we can with the wood we have available.
