Canara Cement Pipes

Our place, Canara Cement Pipes, sits right on National Highway 17. If you are driving through the Uttara Kannada district, you will see us on the side of the road. It is a busy stretch, and the sound of the big trucks passing by never really stops. We deal with cement pipes, so the yard is always full of heavy grey tubes stacked up high. It’s not the most glamorous work, but it is necessary for all the drainage and road projects going on around here. The rain in this part of the country can be quite heavy, especially during the monsoon season, so we have to manage our outdoor storage carefully so things don't get too muddy or damaged. We have been at this spot for a while now, and the door number is 17, which is easy to remember since it’s on the same highway. The staff here are mostly locals who know the area well. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too hot, mixing cement and checking the molds for the next batch. There isn't much to say about the office; it’s just a small room where we keep our paperwork and take our lunch breaks. We don’t do much marketing because people who need pipes usually find us just by seeing the stacks from the highway. It’s a practical business for a practical part of the world. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
