You can find Rajendra Pathira Maligai at 46, T S R Big Street in Valayapettai Agraharam. This street has always been a busy hub for shopping in our town. Our shop is filled from floor to ceiling with all sorts of pots, pans, and kitchen things. We have stuff made of stainless steel, brass, and even some traditional clay items for cooking. The shelves are packed so tight that sometimes we have to leave new stock on the floor. It’s a bit of a maze once you step inside. People usually come here when they are setting up a new home or when an old vessel finally gives out. We don't do much talking except to tell people the price or help them find a specific size. We’ve had this shop for a long time, and the way we do things hasn't changed much. The old scales are still used for some items. A squeaky fan in the ceiling keeps the air moving during the hot afternoons. On festival days, the street gets incredibly packed with people, and we have to stay extra alert. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming to this street since they were kids. We don't have any big slogans or corporate goals. Selling utensils that last for years is all we really care about. It’s a simple life, surrounded by the sound of metal clinking and the chatter of the market. We close up when the street lights come on and it gets dark.
