Venopa Bronze Idols

Our workshop is located at No. 14 Mariyamma Kovil Street in Swamimalai. If you know anything about Swamimalai, you know it’s a place where making things by hand is very common. Here at Venopa Bronze Idols, we spend our days working with metal and tools. It’s dusty and noisy work, but it’s what we do. The smell of the forge and the sound of hammers are just part of the atmosphere on Mariyamma Kovil Street. We aren't a big factory or anything; it’s more of a traditional setup where we focus on the craft. Sometimes the idols take a long time to finish, and we have to be patient with the process. We don't have a fancy showroom with air conditioning. Instead, you’ll find us with our sleeves rolled up, covered in a bit of grit from the day's labor. People come to us because they know we’ve been here for a while and we understand the material we work with. The street is usually busy, and we often have neighbors popping in to say hello while we work. We don't put much effort into advertising or anything corporate. We just let the work speak for itself and hope people like what they see. It’s a hard job sometimes, but there is a certain satisfaction in finishing a piece and seeing it sit there in the workshop before it goes to its new home.
