You can find us at 91, Perumal Govind Street, which is near Kuthalam on the road that goes from Kumbakonam to Mayiladudhurai. We’ve been working with seeds for a long time now. It’s a meticulous kind of job, making sure everything is sorted and stored in the right way so it doesn’t spoil. The shop is filled with the smell of dried earth and different types of grains. Customers come in from the surrounding villages, often stopping by on their way between the bigger towns. We talk about the rain, the pests, and which varieties are growing well this year. Our building is an old one, and it has its quirks, like the way the door creaks every time someone enters. We don't have a big corporate structure; it’s just us trying to provide the local growers with what they need for their next crop. The road outside is always busy with buses and bikes, but inside it’s usually just the quiet sound of seeds being poured into bags. It’s important work, even if it’s not flashy. We keep our records in a ledger and try to stay organized, though during the peak season, things can get a bit hectic. We like being part of the community here on Perumal Govind Street and helping out where we can.
