Tethys Museum Foundation

Tethys Museum Foundation is tucked away in Village Dangyari. We are care of Ina Singh, located on the Dharampur Subathu Road in Tehsil Kasauli. Solan is a beautiful district, and being on the road to Subathu means we see a lot of people passing through on their way to the hills. The museum space isn't like those huge ones you see in the big cities. It is more of a local effort, housed in a building that fits right into the village landscape. It gets very foggy up here in Kasauli, especially during the monsoon season. Sometimes you can barely see the road from our front door. We spend a lot of time organizing things and making sure everything is in its place. It is a quiet existence for the most part, away from the loud noises of the highway. Ina Singh is around quite often to help keep things running. We don't have a team of people in suits. We just have a few local folks who care about the place. People stop by when they are driving through, and we always have time for a quick chat. It is a slow-paced environment, which is perfect for what we are doing. The building itself is old and has a lot of character, even if the walls need a bit of paint here and there.
