Kulu Aromatics

We are based up in Shamshi, in the Kulu valley. Being surrounded by the mountains makes for a nice view from the windows of Kulu Aromatics. We work with various oils and scents that come from the plants around here. It’s a different kind of pace than the big cities. The air is fresher, though it gets very cold in the winter months. We spend a lot of time processing raw materials and making sure the smells are right. It’s a bit of a messy process sometimes, with spills and stains on the worktables. We have a small shed where we store the herbs and flowers before they get used. The office is just a small wooden desk and a computer that’s seen better days. We don't have a lot of visitors way up here, but we stay busy with the local growers. It’s a quiet life, mostly. We focus on the seasonal cycles and what the land gives us. Sometimes the roads are blocked by snow or rain, and we just have to wait it out. It gives us time to catch up on the cleaning or fix a broken tool. We aren't looking to change the world; we just like working with these natural things. It feels right to be doing this here. People around town know us, and we try to be good neighbors. It’s just a small aromatic business in the hills.
