Himalayan Grassroots Organics

We are based out of Village Bhanara, a small spot tucked away in the hills. We started this because we wanted to keep growing things the way our grandparents did. It’s all organic, but we don’t call it that to be trendy. It’s just the only way we know how to farm without using all those chemicals that ruin the soil. There are about four of us who handle the planting and the harvesting. It’s hard on the back, bending over in the fields all day, but the quality of what we grow is worth it. We don’t have a big factory or a warehouse. We use a small shed in the village to pack up the dried herbs and grains we produce. Everything is done by hand, from the cleaning to the bagging. Sometimes the mountain weather makes things difficult and we lose a crop, but that’s just how it goes with nature. We sell what we can to people who appreciate simple, clean food. Bhanara is a quiet place and we like that. We aren't interested in becoming a massive company with offices and managers. We just want to stay in our village, work the land, and provide something real to the people who buy from us. It’s a lot of work for a small return, but it feels right at the end of the day. It is just the way we like to work.
