We are located right opposite the Mayru Restaurant, which is a place almost everyone in Manali knows. Echo Himalaya Tours has been operating from this spot in the 175131 area for a good number of years. It is a straightforward setup with just a few of us handling the phones and the paperwork. We spend a lot of time checking the weather reports because the mountains don't care about your plans. If a storm is coming, we have to know about it first. We aren't a massive agency with a big marketing budget. We are just local people who know the valleys and the shortcuts. You can usually find us chatting with the neighbors or checking the tires on the vehicles. We don't believe in rushing people through their day. If someone wants to stop and look at the peaks for an hour, we tell the drivers to let them. Most of our work comes from people walking by and seeing our sign while they are heading out for dinner. The Himalayas are big and they have a way of making everything else feel small. We try to keep our business honest and simple, just like the life we live here in the hills. It is a good way to spend the day, surrounded by the mountains and the people who travel to see them.
