Cafe Jardin

Up here at Manuallaya in the Sunny Side area of Chadiyari, things move a little slower. Cafe Jardin isn't trying to be a fancy city cafe. We're just a place in Manali where you can grab a coffee or a bite to eat without much fuss. The air is cold most of the year, so we keep it warm inside. There are plenty of plants around, which is why we have the name, I guess. It’s not some big corporate chain. We make the food as it’s ordered, so sometimes you have to wait a little bit longer if we’re busy. The view of the mountains is right there, which is nice if the clouds aren't too low. We get a mix of travelers with big backpacks and people just staying nearby. The tables aren't all matching, and some of the chairs creak a little when you sit down, but it’s comfortable. We don't have a mission statement or any big goals other than keeping the place running and the coffee hot. If you're wandering around Chadiyari and need a break from the wind, you can find us easily enough. It’s a quiet spot to read a book or just stare out the window for a while. No one’s going to rush you out. It's just a simple cafe in a beautiful part of the world, doing its thing day after day. We just hope the food tastes like home.
