Ghanshyam Sharma is the person you’ll see if you visit us in Nirmand. We are tucked away in Village Nirmandphati, right in the heart of the hills. Our business is agri inputs, so we spend our time dealing with fertilizers, tools, and seeds that the local farmers need. Living and working in Nirmand 172023 means we have to deal with the mountain roads, which are not always in the best shape. When the supply trucks arrive, it’s a big job for everyone to unload everything and get it into the store. We don't have a polished retail space. It looks more like a crowded storage room with a small desk for Ghanshyam to do the accounts. We started this because getting good supplies up here was always a bit of a struggle for the locals. We don't have a big corporate team. We are just neighbors helping neighbors. Most of our day is spent talking to farmers about what they are planting and what they might need for the next month. It’s a slow pace of life but the work is heavy. We don't make big speeches about the future or our goals. We just try to make sure we have enough stock for the next planting season so nobody is left waiting when the rains come.
