Jagodhatri Marbel & Jagodhatri Traders

Jagodhatri Marbel & Jagodhatri Traders is based in Bhatjangla, right by the Palpara More in Krishnagar. We are very close to N.H. 34, which is the main reason we get so much foot traffic and people stopping by in their trucks. The business is split between marble and other trading goods, so there is always a variety of things sitting around the yard. Nadia can get very humid, and on those days, work feels a bit slower than usual. We have a simple building where we keep the more delicate items, while the bigger stone slabs stay outside near the entrance. It is a local operation through and through. Most of the people who work here live just a short bike ride away. We don’t have a website or any of those modern things. We just talk to whoever walks in through the gate. Sometimes we sit on plastic chairs outside and watch the traffic on the highway while we wait for the next delivery to arrive. It’s a bit messy at times because we handle so many different types of materials. We try to keep things in some kind of order, but in a trading business, things are always moving in and out. It’s a plain way of making a living, and we’ve been doing it this way for a long time without needing to change much about how we run things.
