Pum School

Pum School is located on Omakuppam Main Road in the Marimanikuppam area of Vellore. If you are driving through the 635710 zip code, you will likely see our building along the main road. It is a simple school that serves the families living in and around Marimanikuppam. We don't have a huge staff, just a few dedicated people who have been here for years. The school consists of a few classrooms where the kids gather for their daily lessons. It’s a very rural setting, so things are a bit quieter here than they would be in the middle of a big city. We have a small yard where the children can play during their breaks. The building is older, and you can see the wear and tear on the walls, but it serves its purpose well enough. We don't have fancy computer labs or big libraries, just the essential textbooks and a lot of hard work. Our days start early with the sounds of the kids arriving and end when the last bus or parent picks them up. It is a very basic operation. We just try to make sure the children learn their basics and have a safe place to be during the day. Most of the parents here are our neighbors, so we see them all the time at the local shops. It’s just a small, local school doing its bit for the community here in Vellore.
