National Printers

National Printers is over on Plot No.26, right on Ramar Kovil Street near Nethaji Road in Anna Nagar. It’s a pretty easy place to find if you know the temple. We have been doing printing for a long time in this neighborhood. The shop has that smell of fresh ink and paper that never really goes away. We have a few big presses that take up most of the room in the back. They can be really loud when they’re running full speed. I usually have ink on my hands by the end of the shift. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture or a clean lobby. It’s more of a workshop than an office. We do everything from wedding cards to simple black and white copies. People from Anna Nagar have been coming to us for years because they know where we are. We don't really do much to promote ourselves. The word just gets around. My father used to work here too, so the place has a lot of history for us. Sometimes the old machines act up, but we know how to fix them ourselves. It’s not a shiny corporate place with a mission statement. We just show up, take the orders, and make sure the colors look okay on the paper. It’s a basic way to live, but we like the work. We usually stay open until the last order is packed up.
