Infinity Engineering

We’re located at No 99 in Somalapuram Village, which is down in the Ambur Taluk of Vellore. It’s a bit of a trek to get here if you aren’t from around Tamil Nadu, but we’ve been here for years. The shop sits right in the village, so you see the cows and the local life passing by the gate every day. We do engineering work, mostly custom stuff that people need for their local businesses or farms. It’s hot work, especially under the tin roof when the sun is high. We don’t have fancy cooling or modern office chairs. Most of our office work happens at a wooden table near the entrance. We started this because we liked fixing things and it grew into a full-time job. Sometimes we don’t have the exact part we need, so we have to wait for it to come from the city, which can take a day or two. Our customers are mostly people we know by name. We don’t use big words or try to act like we’re some multinational firm. We’re just local guys who know how to weld and use a lathe. The floor is usually covered in iron dust and there’s always a project half-finished in the corner. We work until the sun goes down and then we head home. It’s a simple life, and the work is hard but it keeps us going day after day.
