You can find us at No. 1 in Poonapalli Village, which is just out by the Mathagondapalli Post in Hosur. It is a large site where we put together engines and transmissions for various vehicles. Most of the people working here live in the surrounding villages and have been here for years. We start early when the mist is still on the ground and the air is cool. The factory floor is a mix of old techniques and some newer machines we have brought in recently to help. It is a busy place with a lot of moving parts and noise. We spend a lot of time checking tolerances and making sure everything fits together like it is supposed to. Our canteen is where most of the news travels; we talk about everything from the local cricket scores to the latest factory updates over lunch. It is not a flashy corporate office with glass walls. It is a place where things actually get built by hand. We have a lot of trucks coming in and out every day, so the yard is always a bit of a mess with tire tracks and dust. Sometimes the rain makes the road to the village a bit tricky to navigate, but we always manage to make it in for the shift. We just focus on doing the work properly so we do not have to redo it later. It is steady, practical work that keeps the local economy moving along.
