Universal Electronics

Universal Electronics is our small shop in Lambadipet, Vijayawada. We have been here for years, and the place is packed from floor to ceiling with all sorts of components, wires, and old gadgets. It’s a bit of a mess, to be honest, but we know where everything is. Mostly, we spend our time soldering things or trying to figure out why an old television won't turn on. The heat in Vijayawada can be quite something, so we have a couple of fans running all day to keep the air moving. Our customers are usually locals from around Lambadipet who bring in their broken electronics instead of buying new ones. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s just a counter and a lot of tools behind it. Sometimes we have to wait a week for a specific part to arrive by mail, and we just tell the customer to check back later. We aren't a big chain store. It’s just a few of us who like tinkering with circuits. There’s always the smell of hot solder in the air. We don't use any fancy computer systems to track things; we mostly just write notes on scraps of paper. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it works for us. People know they can find us here from morning until the evening. We enjoy the work, even when a repair gets frustrating and takes hours longer than we thought it would when we started.
