Srinivasa General Store

Our store is at 2-223 on a road that doesn't even have a name here in Nayudugudem. It’s just how things are in this part of the village. We have been here for a long time and everyone knows where to find us even without a proper street sign. The store is filled with everything from soap and matches to bags of grain and snacks for the kids. It’s a small space, so we have things stacked up high towards the ceiling. Sometimes it’s a bit of a struggle to find exactly what someone is looking for, but we usually know where everything is hidden. In the mornings, people stop by for their daily needs before heading out to the fields. Then it gets quiet in the afternoon when it’s hot and we might take a nap behind the counter. The evenings get busy again when people are coming home. We hear all the local gossip and news here. It’s not just a shop; it’s where people stand around and talk for a while. We don't have a computer or anything; everything is written down in a notebook. The door is usually open to let some air in, though it brings in the dust too. We just sweep it out every morning and start again. It’s a simple life and we like being part of the community here in Nayudugudem.
