About Srinivas Lathe Works – Repair & Maintenance in Krishna
Down in Ramanagar, specifically at 3-2-342 in Nidamanuru, you’ll find our little workshop. Being in Vijayawada, it gets incredibly hot in the afternoons, so we try to get most of the heavy lifting done early in the morning. Our place is centered around the lathes. They’ve been with us for a long time and they still run well if you know how to treat them. You can usually find us covered in metal shavings by midday. It’s not the cleanest job, but there is something satisfying about turning a piece of raw metal into something useful. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. Most people just walk right into the shop and talk to whoever isn't currently running a machine. We’ve known most of our customers for years. They are mostly farmers or other small shop owners from around the Nidamanuru area. Sometimes we have to weld something on the fly or fix a broken axle that someone brought in on a tractor. We just take the work as it comes through the door. The shop is a bit cluttered with scraps and old parts we might need someday. It’s a humble place, and we like it that way. We don't need much more than our tools and a steady supply of work to keep us happy. When the sun goes down, we lock up the gate and head home, ready to do it all again the next day.
