Sri Anjaneya Kirana Stores

Sri Anjaneya Kirana Stores has been a part of Eluru Road for quite a few years now. You can find us at 3-2-473 in Kaikaluru. Being on a main road means we see a lot of people passing through, not just the locals who live on the side streets. We sell all the usual things you’d expect from a kirana shop, like grains, oils, and different types of spices. The shop is often a bit cluttered because we try to fit as much stock as possible into the small space we have. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes when three or four people are inside at once. My family and I spend most of our time here, from early morning until late at night. We’ve got to know the tastes of the people in Kaikaluru pretty well by now. If a customer likes a certain kind of local rice, we make sure to have it in the back room. It’s not a high-tech business; we still use a lot of manual work for weighing and bagging things up for people. The fans hum all day to keep the heat away, but it still gets quite hot in the middle of summer. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing plan. We just open the shutters every day and wait for the regulars to come by. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. Sometimes we make mistakes, but we always try to fix them quickly.
