Site Supervisor

I’m based over here on Gurujusuryanarayana Street in Machilipatnam. It’s a busy part of town and there’s always something going on with the local buildings. Most of my day is spent out on the dirt, checking if the workers showed up and making sure the supplies like sand and bricks got delivered where they need to go. Krishna District gets pretty hot, so we try to get most things moving early in the morning before the sun really starts baking everything. My job as a site supervisor isn’t fancy at all. I just walk around with my clipboard and look at the walls being put up. If something looks crooked, I tell them. I talk to the laborers a lot. Sometimes the trucks are late coming down the street and that slows us down, but that’s just how it is around here. People know where to find me if there’s a problem with the foundation or if they need someone to watch the cement mixing. I don’t sit in an office much. I’d rather be outside seeing the progress with my own eyes. It’s a lot of dust and noise, but seeing a house actually get built from nothing is why I keep doing this. We’ve been around this area for a while now and everyone knows the drill. Just hard work and keeping a close eye on the details every single day.
