Sambasiva Rice & General Store

I’ve been running Sambasiva Rice & General Store on Pattebaada Road for quite some time now. People in Chanikyapuri Colony know the spot well. It’s a simple shop, really. We stock different kinds of rice because that’s what everyone asks for most. Then there’s the usual general stuff—soaps, oils, matches, and small things people run out of in the middle of cooking. My day starts pretty early. I open up, sweep the front, and get the bags of rice ready. Sometimes the delivery truck comes late, and things get a bit messy with sacks piled up near the door, but we manage. Most of the folks who come in are neighbors. We talk about the weather or how the road construction is going while I weigh out their orders. It’s not a big fancy place with bright lights or anything. Just shelves and a counter. Some days it’s quiet, and I just sit on the stool and watch the traffic go by on Pattebaada Road. Other times, like Sunday mornings, it gets a bit crowded and I have to move fast. I try to keep everything stocked so nobody has to go elsewhere for basic things. It’s just me and sometimes a help here. We don't do anything special, just keep the doors open and sell what's needed.
