Our place is located at DNO 11/167-22 on Rani Gari Street in Brahmapuram. Being in Krishna district, we are right in the middle of where a lot of handloom work happens. Pedana Chenetha Handloom Cloth Producercompany Limited is really just a bunch of local weavers trying to make a living. We spend most of our hours looking at threads and patterns. It’s not easy on the eyes after a long day but it’s what we do. The street outside can get a bit crowded with cycles and people walking by. Inside, things are a bit dusty from the cotton but that’s normal for a cloth business. We don’t really have a big reception area or anything. You just walk in and see people working. We try to keep the old ways of making cloth alive because that’s what we were taught. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that gives us a chance to drink some tea and rest. We don’t use any complicated machines that do everything for us. Most of it is still done by hand. It takes time to finish even a single piece of cloth. We don't worry about being the biggest company around. We just want to make sure the stuff we make is decent and that our workers get their pay on time. It is a simple way of living and working.
