Manikanta Traders

We are out in Agiripalli, right near the post office. Manikanta Traders has been a part of this area for a long time. It’s a lot quieter out here than it is in the big cities, which we like. Our building is a simple structure where we store everything we’re trading. Depending on the time of year, what’s inside changes a lot. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing team. It’s just us, a couple of ledgers, and a lot of phone calls to suppliers and buyers. The floor is concrete and usually covered in bits of packing material. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading trucks that pull up in front of the gate. Sometimes the trucks get delayed because of the roads, so we end up waiting around drinking tea and talking about the weather. The local post office is a good landmark if people are trying to find us. We open up early and close whenever the work is done, which varies from day to day. The seasons really dictate how busy we get. When it's harvest time, the energy around here changes and we are on our feet all day long. In the quieter months, we take the time to fix up the shed and reorganize the inventory. We have a small radio that plays local stations, and it’s been sitting on the same shelf for ten years. It’s not complicated, and we don’t try to make it seem like it is.
