Madras Cements Ltd

I spend most of my days at No D 37, which is where Madras Cements Ltd is based out in Ksr Nagar. We are in the Jaggaiahpet area of Krishna Dist, and it’s a fairly busy place to be. The zip code is 521457 if you're looking it up. I’ve been working here for a long time now, and I’ve seen the seasons change from this same desk. It’s a practical kind of place. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just some calendars and a few old photos. Most of the time, we are just busy with the trucks. You can hear the engines idling outside while we get the paperwork sorted. It's dusty work, and my boots are usually covered in a fine grey layer by the end of the shift. We aren't here to make big promises or use fancy words. We just make sure the cement bags are where they need to be. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a ten-minute break, which is usually the highlight of the afternoon. It gets very hot in the summer, so we have a couple of big fans that make a lot of noise but keep us cool enough. We know the drivers and the local builders by their first names. It’s just a normal job in a normal town. We show up, do the work, and go home to our families.
