Lanco Infratech Ltd, or the Lanco Group as some call us, has a spot here in Vijayawada. We are over in the Aphb Colony in Bhavanipuram, specifically at 38. H.I.G. It’s a residential area mostly, so it’s fairly quiet compared to the main roads. Being in Andhra Pradesh, we deal with a lot of local stuff for the Hyderabad office. The building is just a standard house converted into a workspace. It’s got that old colony feel to it. We’ve got some desks pushed together and a computer that’s seen better days, but it gets the job done for us. We don’t have a sign outside that’s lit up or anything, just the house number 38. People in the neighborhood are used to seeing us coming and going at odd hours. We try not to bother anyone. The heat in Vijayawada can be something else in the summer, so we have a couple of fans going all day. It’s not the most glamorous place to work, but it’s practical and it’s close to where we need to be. We handle the local paperwork and keep track of the guys out on the sites. It’s a lot of coordination and phone calls. Sometimes we run out of tea, which is usually the biggest crisis of the week. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
