Jay Shrimp Private Limited

We are over at H. No. 26-9-65/1 in the Balusumudi area. Jay Shrimp is what we call our little operation. We focus on shrimp, which is a big deal in this part of the country. Being in Balusumudi, we are surrounded by people who know the shrimp business inside and out. Our place isn't anything special to look at, just a practical space where we can manage our operations. We spend a lot of time at the ponds and then back here at the house to handle the logistics. It’s a lot of early mornings and late nights, especially during harvest time. Shrimp can be finicky, so you have to stay on top of things constantly or you lose the whole batch. We’ve had our fair share of bad seasons, but that's just part of the game when you work with nature. We have a small team of locals who help us out. Most of us grew up around here, so we know the land and the water pretty well. We don't spend money on fancy offices or big ads. We just focus on the shrimp and getting them to the people who buy them. It’s a lot of manual labor and keeping track of temperatures and sizes. It’s not an easy way to make a living, but it’s what we’ve been doing for years and we don't plan on changing. We just take it one day at a time here in Balusumudi and hope for good weather.
