Javed Mobiles & Times

Working here beside the Uma Gold Post Office keeps us pretty busy because people are always passing by on their way to mail things. Our shop is right on Challapallli Road at the Kotavaritulla Center. It is a good spot, though the traffic can be a bit much sometimes. We have been handling mobile phones and watches for quite some time. It is funny how people still need their old wristwatches fixed even though everyone has a phone in their pocket now. We spend our days squinting at tiny screws and battery compartments. The light in the shop is okay, but sometimes we have to step near the door to see the really small parts. When the weather gets humid, the air feels heavy inside, but we keep the doors open anyway. People pop in to ask for the time or to see if their phone screen can be saved after a drop. We don't have a big team, just us here making sure things work. The post office workers come by for a chat every now and then. Life on Challapallli Road has its own rhythm. We take things as they come. One day it's a broken watch strap, the next it's a software issue. We just keep the tools ready and the glass cases clean. It’s a simple way to spend the day. We usually close up when the sun goes down and the street lights come on.
