We are based at Archita Sardar’s place in Krishna Nagar, right over in the Durgamandir area. If you know Mul Road, we are tucked away behind Subhash Kirana. It’s a local neighborhood vibe, nothing like those big business districts. The sound of the temple bells from Durgamandir is a regular part of our day. We work out of a small room that’s been converted into an office. There’s a lot of traffic on Mul Road, but being behind the kirana store buffers some of that noise. We’ve got a few old laptops and a printer that sometimes decides not to work when we’re in a hurry. Archita is usually around, keeping an eye on things. It’s a very informal setup. Sometimes we have to move boxes around just to find a place to sit if a new shipment of materials has come in. The walls are a bit plain, and we could probably use a better light bulb in the corner, but it gets the job done. We don't have a receptionist; whoever is closest to the door just answers it. Most of the day is spent handling the foundation’s paperwork or talking to people from the community. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We just focus on the tasks at hand and try to stay organized despite the cramped quarters. We don't worry about being fancy, we just do what needs to be done.
