Dharmendar Stores

Down here in Nidamanuru, life moves at its own pace. Our shop at 225/12 has been a fixture in the Krishna district for quite some time. It’s a simple setup, mostly just us and the goods we sell to the local folks. We get a lot of farmers and workers coming through, especially in the early hours before they head out to the fields. The floor is concrete and can get a bit dusty when the wind picks up, but we try to keep it tidy. We stock things that people actually use every day, nothing too elaborate or unnecessary. Sometimes we run out of certain items because the delivery truck had a breakdown or the road was blocked, but people here are patient. We sit on small stools behind the counter and chat with whoever has a moment to spare. The area around Nidamanuru is changing, with more houses being built, but our store stays pretty much the same. We don’t have air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day. It’s a bit cramped when we get a large shipment of rice or oil, and we have to shuffle things around to find a spot for everything. We aren't trying to be the biggest store around; we just want to be here for the people who live nearby. It’s honest work and it keeps us connected to the land. It feels right being here day after day.
